The Beaverton site is the second LifeWorks NW clinic to have a Genoa Healthcare pharmacy. It opened December 18, with a “soft opening.” Their grand opening will be in the first quarter of 2020.
“Genoa is excited to be partnering with Lifeworks NW again to service our clients with adherence packaging, free mail, and partnering with Lifeworks NW to provide compassionate care to each client,” says Katie Lozano, PharmD, director of Operations for Genoa Healthcare. “Please stop by the pharmacy in the lobby [at Beaverton] to meet your pharmacist, Leah, and see the pharmacy!”
Why is it so important that we have partnered with Genoa to provide pharmacies–now in two locations? In recent years, we’ve worked diligently to integrate all necessary health services.
In the book To Err is Human: Building a Safer Health System (2000) it was speculated that there were approximately 1.5 million preventable adverse drug events every year. Because our clients often see us much more frequently than their primary care provider, having a pharmacy on site helps make pharmaceutical transparency, usage and education easier for both clients and staff.
”We are so appreciative to have Genoa Healthcare as a collaborative partner helping to ensure we truly are serving the body, mind and spirit,” says LifeWorks NW’s CEO Mary Monnat.
