Linda Cruz, MD, a family physician, is the West Area Medical Director for Providence Medical Group (PMG) in the Oregon Region of Providence Health & Services, a not-for-profit network of hospitals, health plans, physicians, clinics, home health services, and affiliated health services. In this role, Dr. Cruz is responsible for clinical oversight of multiple Internal Medicine, Pediatric and Family Medicine primary care clinics on the west side of the Portland Service Area. She holds other leadership positions within the medical group as well, including oversight of Regional Clinical Quality for primary care and Medical Neighborhood committee; she also serves as the physician leader and sponsor for the Oregon Region’s Persistent Pain Collaborative.
Dr. Cruz began her tenure with PMG in 2008 as a family medicine physician at PMG Tanasbourne, where she was named clinic medical director from 2011 to 2014 before moving into her current role. As a physician leader who also practices family medicine, she sees patients in all the west side PMG clinics both to maintain her practice and to support the PMG provider network of the medical group.
Dr. Cruz was born and raised in Canada and earned her undergraduate degree in Cellular Molecular and Microbial biology at the University of Calgary, where she went on to earn her medical degree and complete her residency in family practice. Dr. Cruz built an independent family medicine practice in Calgary before moving to Portland, Oregon, in 1998 to join Tuality Physicians, where she practiced for a decade before joining Providence Medical Group. Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Cruz has participated in several international health missions providing primary care services.
