More than two years ago, the artistic director of the Oregon Chorale approached LifeWorks NW to help design a concert called Of Sound Mind in honor of mental health care. The choir wanted to both honor the work being done on behalf of people coping with mental health issues and the courage of those consumers actively seeking recovery. Then, when the state closed public events down because of COVID-19 in March 2020, the concert was canceled.

At last, the choir feels that the time is right to offer the concert again, and they are ensuring careful COVID protocols to mitigate exposure. All choral participants are fully vaccinated, and all concert attendees must show vaccination cards or negative test proofs. All attendees must wear masks and parties will be socially distanced with seats between each group.

The Maybelle Community Singers, a group of housing insecure attendees of the Maybelle Center, will also perform. The concert will be performed twice:

March 12, Saturday, at Trinity Lutheran in Hillsboro, at 7 pm (doors open at 6:30)

2194 SE Minter Bridge Rd, Hillsboro, OR 97123

March 13, Sunday, at 3 pm, at Southminster Presbyterian, matinee.

12250 SW Denney Road
Beaverton, OR 97008
