Julie Novakowski currently works as a Grantee Specialist with ICF providing training and technical assistance to the regional Head Start and Early Head Start grant recipients who reside in Alaska, Washington, Idaho and Oregon. She offers consultation to recipients, governing bodies, program directors and managers to improve program outcomes and to correct federal deficiencies and non-compliances identified through national monitoring systems.
She has over 30 years of experience in education with a large portion of that time focused on early childhood education.
Julie is deeply committed to ensuring equitable access to top-tier education and support services for children and families who are furtherest from opportunity.
Mental health is close to Julie’s heart and has touched the life of her late son and other family members in a way that makes seeing the direct impact it has on the community a reality for her family. It was because of the positive support her family received from the staff and programs offered to her family by Lifeworks NW that she is honored to be giving back while serving as a board member.
