Hawthorn Walk-In Center
We provide crisis services at the Hawthorn Walk-In Center to people of all ages. Services are short term, with a focus on safety planning, stabilization, and connection to ongoing care.
The Hawthorn Walk-In Center is open on weekdays from 9 am to 7 pm and on weekends from 10 am to 4 pm. If you need help with mental health or addictions issues right away— no matter what day of the week it is — the first thing to do is to call the Washington County Crisis Line at 503-291-9111.
Trained professionals are available 24/7. They can help you decide the best option for care. This may include helping you over the phone, connecting you with in-person help at Hawthorn, or arranging for a crisis team to come to you.
The following teams coordinate their services from this center:
- Washington County Crisis Team: The crisis team sees people at the Walk-In Center and provides mobile services throughout Washington County in schools, jails, emergency departments, and homes.
- Peer team: Peers have lived experience with mental health or addictions challenges. They provide immediate and follow-up support services to people who come to the Hawthorn Walk-In Center.
- Intensive Transition Team: This team helps people transition from acute care in the hospital to community settings.
- Mental Health Response Team (MHRT): MHRT pairs clinicians with Washington County Sheriff deputies to respond to 911 calls with a mental health component.
- Hawthorn Substance Use Disorder Team: This team works in the community and at Hawthorn to help people connect to substance use disorder treatment.
